The project commenced with the evaluation of multiple legacy applications related to regulatory cases and the subsequent plan to retire some of them. The redesign allowed us to uncover and address multiple issues, including improving the efficacy of surveillance patterns to detect abusive activities such as layering, spoofing, algorithm gaming, and front-running

The user research started with talking to analysts, their managers and supervisors about their everyday challenges, responsibilities, painpoints and workflows. Personas and journey maps were created, and all work-related activities, procedures and workflows documented.
Wireframes and high-fidelity mockups were used to validate our ideas in many iteration cycles. Testing was often conducted with a smaller group of selected users through direct observing both moderated and unmoderated.
